International Talent

An initiative supporting TEOs through their Career Advisors to support International ICT graduates into jobs by refining the suitability for the domestic job market. The project is the development and delivery of a toolbox of tactical support that includes interview and CV preparation, English language assistance, Immigration support and job placement. The project is a collaborative venture with Immigration NZ and Study Auckland.

Auckland Hiring IT - International Job Expo

Event Overview
Department of Labour and Accelerating Auckland, with the support of Tourism
Auckland, are planning “Auckland Hiring IT”, an employment expo for skilled
migrants in Auckland in September 2007. Following a similar format to that of offshore expos – matching employers with jobs with migrants seeking employment in New Zealand – the event will focus on the ICT sector as a pilot for future evets addressing skills shortages in other key sectors.

The pilot focuses on international university graduates, working holiday makers,
tourists, temporary visa holders and skilled workers who may currently not be
working in their field of qualification.

The event is structured to compliment the off-shore recruitment expos by trialling an on-shore approach that can potentially be replicated across sectors and throughout New Zealand and run annually.
