Applying classroom knowledge to real situations & challenges

Date: September 30, 2011
Meet Noah Ghebremichael–Accelerating Aotearoa’s new Intern, AUT Bachelor of Business student.
Noah Ghebremichael   “I believe undertaking this Co-op project at Accelerating Aotearoa specifically is a golden opportunity to team up & work closely with dynamic experts from various fields to think critically on how management and technology can be better utilized to create opportunities, reflect on social benefits & responsibilities as well as analyze and understand the impact on New Zealand economy. I could never ask for a better Co-op opportunity”.

During September – November Noah Ghebremichael joins Accelerating Aotearoa as our Co-op Student to assist us in the development of the iTRAC© project. The objective of the project is to put together an executive briefing package for our iTRAC© (Internet Tracking, Retention, Attraction and Completion) programme.

iTRAC© is Accelerating Aotearoa’s strategic approach to future-proofing work skills and practice by linking the work requirements of employers, communities and a dynamic job market, to training and skills development. It’s web-based, dynamic and seeks to revolutionise approaches to future skills requirements.

An AUT University Bachelor of Business student, Noah is originally from Eritrea which is located in Northeast Africa. After completing his primary and high school studies in Sudan, Noah came to New Zealand in June 2008 with his mother and younger brother. Noah is studying a double major in Management and Business Information Systems at the AUT Business School where he is in his final year.

Accelerating Aotearoa CE Judy Speight says “we are delighted to have Noah on our team. He is clearly an extremely talented young man and we are looking forward to the insights his fresh perspective will bring this very exciting project”.

I really feel Accelerating Aotearoa is a remarkable and hugely professional organization. Experiencing life as a Co-op student there is a fantastic way to build my commercial awareness, interpersonal & organizational skills, learn how to perform multiple tasks under strict business standards, and work as a team player.
The AUT Business School has prepared me to put into practice the academic aspects of my degree in Management and Business Information Systems, and I believe that nothing can beat Co-op experience for developing skills and personal traits and competencies”
says Noah.

“My goal in life is to acquire a professional career which gives me an opportunity to achieve work & life balance while being an effective contributing citizen. Many thanks to Accelerating Aotearoa executives for supporting my first steps toward this goal.”
